This hoop is named "Venus" because its palette, movement, and the shell-like designs in the silk all remind me of Sandro Botticell's "Birth of Venus" painting, which has always intrigued me.

It features a number of different stitches and textures including satin stitch, french knots, beads, a pom-pom and a few sequins. It is 6 inches in diameter and is finished in a painted hoop, with a felt backing.
