Title: “Fissure” hand embroidery on linen, 6 x 6 inches

I love it when I get into a flow with my embroidery and it’s like reading a really great book, not knowing where the story is headed.

It was like that with this intricate, tightly-stitched piece. I enjoy working improvisationally, where each element and color invites the next. When I look at this piece it makes me think about transition and change.

This piece is stretched over a 6 x 6” artist’s canvas. It is secured at the corners and the on back with stitching and a felt backing with my initials. It has a sawtooth hook and is ready to hang.
